Google AdSense is one of Google Incorporation's online advertising programs. The program was launched by Google in mid-2003.
All users can participate in this service provided they have a blog or website. Through this program, people who have a website or blog can display AdSense ads on their website or blog.
If a visitor clicks on the AdSense ad, the owner of the website/blog will earn money.
So, Google AdSense is a pay-per-click-based advertising program that allows website owners to earn revenue from the ads installed.
Later, AdSense will display ads on blogs or websites in the form of text, images, and videos to website visitors according to the wishes of the website owner.
The way Google AdSense works is by utilizing the cache of the user's browser to find out what is needed, later the ads that appear will suit your needs.
Well, for blog and website owners who want to earn money, they must register for Google AdSense. How to?
1. Create Google AdSense Account
- Go to https://www.google.com/adsense/start
- Click Register Now.
- Enter the URL of the site where you want the ad to appear. Learn more about entering a URL. If your site is on one of Google's host partner sites (like Blogger or YouTube, and the like), you can complete these steps by clicking Continue at… after entering the URL. That way, Google can set up your account faster because the host partner site uses a different account creation process.
- Enter email address.
- Next select whether you want AdSense to send you customized performance and support recommendations. We recommend that you select Yes so you can get the most out of AdSense. You can change contact settings later.
- Click Save and continue.
- Login to Google Account.
- Select your country or region.
- Review and agree to the AdSense Terms and Conditions.
- Click Create Account.
2. Activate Adsense Account
After creating an account, you need to activate it in order to show ads on the site and make money. On the AdSense home page, you display a list of tasks that must be completed before Google can activate your account.
There are three things you need to do to activate Google AdSense. Here are the steps:
1. Connect Your Site to Adsense
- Login to your AdSense account.
- Copy the code that is on the AdSense home page.
- Paste the code into the HTML of your page.
- Confirm that you have pasted the code, then click Done.
2. Enter Payment Address Details
To complete the AdSense activation process, you must provide your payment address details. Users must enter this information correctly in order to receive payments.
How to enter payment address details
- Login to your AdSense account.
- Complete the following fields in the 'Payment Address Details' section.
Account type: Choose whether you want an individual or business AdSense account. Please note, there is no difference in service or payment structure between individual and business accounts.
Name: For individual accounts, enter the full name exactly as it appears in your banking information. Meanwhile, for a business account, enter the company name and contact name for the company.
Address: Enter your full postal address. Note: Users must be able to receive email. If your earnings reach the verification threshold, Google will email you a PIN. Users must enter the PIN in their AdSense account before Google sends payment.
Phone number: Enter a valid phone number.
- Click Send.
3. Verify the phone number
As part of efforts to protect publisher accounts, you will be asked to provide a valid phone number when activating your AdSense account.
How to verify a phone number:
- Login to your AdSense account.
- On the 'Verify Your Phone Number' card, enter your phone number in international format.
- Telephone numbers using the international format begin with a plus sign (+), followed by the country code, area code, and telephone number: +(Country code)(Area code)(Phone number)
- If you have previously verified a phone number for Google, you will see the verified phone number in the 'Phone Number' column. Users can choose to use this phone number for AdSense and skip another phone verification process.
- Choose whether you want to receive the verification code via text message or via voice call.
- Click Get verification code.
- On the next page, enter the six-digit verification code we sent you, then click Submit.
